Tech Tip: Zone OCR and Multi-Value Tokens
The OmniPage Zone OCR process in Quick Fields 8 extracts specific regions of an image’s text using OCR. This tech tip will explain how to OCR multiple lines of text and insert each separately into a multi-value field.
Note: If you are unfamiliar with OmniPage Zone OCR, see its help topic in the online help files here.
Real-World Scenario
The Acme Corporation scans documents that list multiple phone numbers. They have built a Quick Fields session that OCRs the numbers and inserts each as a separate value into a multi-value field.

How Can I Do This?
By default, if an OmniPage Zone OCR region encompasses multiple lines of text, it only OCRs the first line. You must configure the process to capture all lines as a multi-value token, then insert the token into a multi-value field.
- After adding an OmniPage Zone OCR process to your session and configuring its zones, select one of the zones and click Advanced options.

- In the Advanced Options dialog box, set Single Line to False and Create multi-value token to True.
- Insert the token into a multi-value field that has been assigned to one of your session’s document classes.
