Tech Tip: Profiles in Laserfiche Snapshot 8.2
One of the new features in Snapshot 8.2 is the ability to create profiles. A profile is a saved set of configuration information and properties. You can create different profiles for different types of documents and apply them as needed, rather than configuring the settings again every time you change types of documents. Profiles can be applied when using Snapshot as a local printer.
Note: Since this is a preview, note that the details and appearances of certain elements may change between now and the final release.
Creating a Profile
To configure a profile, you first specify the Snapshot configuration settings. These are available when you print to Snapshot, and also when are configuring Snapshot default settings.
These settings include:
- Repository and connection information.
- Default document properties such as name, folder and volume.
- Template and field values.
- Tags.
- Document merging settings.
- Text generation settings.
Then, in the Advanced tab, you can save the current settings and specify a descriptive name for the profile.
Applying a Profile
When you are printing with Snapshot, you can choose a profile to apply. In the Advanced tab, you can select the name of a profile. The settings on all the other tabs will change to those saved in the specified profile.
