When making the case for upgrading Shakopee, MN, to Laserfiche Avante, Carrie Duckett, the city’s Information Technology Coordinator, did her due diligence. “To date, there hasn’t been one Minnesota city that’s purchased Laserfiche and left for one of its main competitors. But in 2010 alone, six of the state’s cities and counties migrated onto Laserfiche from a competitive system.” (more…)

Internal Medicine Center, LLC (IMC), a multi-specialty practice with 20 providers, is the largest independent clinic in Mobile, AL. Established in 1946, it’s also the oldest, compiling over 60 years of patient records.
With so many specialties—and specialists—IMC’s Board of Directors wanted to use electronic medical records (EMR) software to improve operational processes, encouraged by the promise of ARRA stimulus money to help fund it. But IMC’s Practice Administrator, Christine L. Holliman, CMPE, took a more pragmatic view of the situation.
“All vendors talk about the efficiencies of an EMR and the increase in the levels of coding that can be achieved from full implementation,” she says. “As my physicians are many different ages, the idea of transitioning to a full-blown EMR was daunting, to say the least.” (more…)

Prior to implementing Laserfiche in 2007, PPS’s manual cash posting process was paper-driven. But from an operational and cost perspective, paper wasn’t a particularly efficient medium for PPS; even assigning the daily distribution of work was time consuming because someone had to manually review that day’s lock box payments and portion them out to the processors. The Metadata Updater in Quick Fields 8 can help you keep your Quick Fields sessions synchronized with your Laserfiche Repository.
Quick Fields is not connected to the Laserfiche Repository at all times. It generally only connects when storing documents. (If you are using Laserfiche Capture Engine, it also connects when retrieving the documents.) Therefore, if changes are made to metadata settings in the Laserfiche Repository, such as a new template or field being added, a constraint being placed on a field or similar modifications, Quick Fields may not immediately become aware of the changes. You can update the information in Quick Fields by briefly connecting to the Laserfiche Repository with the Metadata Updater. (more…)
