Laserfiche COLD Plus offers the ideal one-step solution for sharing computer-generated records, by expanding the capabilities of LF COLD (Computer Output to Laser Disc) to include point-and-click publishing onto CD. Designed specifically for the corporation or service bureau that needs to make their computer-generated records portable, LF COLD Plus eliminates the need to synchronize database records or manually extract records for distribution. Every CD is published with its own robust, self-contained mini-database for its content records.
Archiving computer-generated records using paper copies or COM (Computer Output to Microfilm) can be extremely unwieldy and expensive. Retrieval and usage of those records is an additional burden. With Laserfiche COLD technology, copying, printing, and microfilm developing is completely eliminated. Instead, computer-generated output is delivered directly to the LF COLD server, which indexes and stores records automatically; up to half a million pages on a single CD.
By retaining a single template image, COLD allows you to view your forms exactly as you would on paper, without the need to retrieve or store physical pages. Your archived records can be searched instantly, and forms can rapidly be retrieved and viewed, printed, faxed, or emailed as necessary.
Portability is Key
Laserfiche's auto-filing feature alleviates the bottleneck of data input associated with traditional filing systems. Simply scan in paper documents and let Laserfiche automatically use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read all printed words, then add them to a full-text index. Laserfiche can also:
- Simultaneously OCR batches of documents on multiple computers.
- Assign or update traditional index fields at any time.
- Import other images or electronic documents.
Fast Search and Retrieval
Using Laserfiche COLD to keep your tens of millions of records available at the press of a key is an incredible advantage. But moving records can be a chore. A service bureau that needs to send its client their backup records would have to manually integrate files into the client’s database. Files would need to be edited, and databases merged and synchronized. The potential for data loss and error arises. In addition, the process can be time consuming and costly.
Using Laserfiche COLD Plus, a service bureau would simply select the desired files, and click a key. LF COLD Plus automates the task of sorting, copying, and building a new portable database for the selected set. Then the bureau could hand their client a CD. That’s it. No merging and no editing of files. And since each CD is built with Laserfiche and Microsoft Access, they are accessible to any Windows PC.
