The new Visioneer 9450 and 9650 Laserfiche Intuition scanners were jointly developed by Visioneer and Laserfiche as a result of strategic planning that began in 2002. The scanner product family was announced today at the 5th annual Laserfiche VAR “United for Success” Conference in Long Beach, California.

Visioneer Document Imaging Scanners-Robust Paper/Data Capture Support The Visioneer 9450 and 9650 Laserfiche Intuition scanners offer departments and workgroups uncompromising quality, reliability and flexibility. The scanners deliver clean color, grayscale and monochrome images attaining efficient 8 and 12 pages per minute (ppm) respectively in the 200 dpi document archiving mode. The scanners also have the ability to scan with a maximum output resolution of up to 1200dpi to capture fine details in graphics. Both scanners feature a flatbed that accommodates photos, books,or fragile items, while the automatic document feeder handles a wide variety of papers, ranging from small 4.5″ x 5.5″ cards to legal documents 14 inches in length.

The Visioneer 9450 and 9650 Laserfiche Intuition scanners feature an optical resolution of 600×1200 dpi, 42-bit internal color, and a built-in automatic document feeder that scans up to 25 pages at a time. The scanner’s ADF uses a 180-degree paper path, eliminating the side mounted output tray found on competing models and reducing the footprint by 50%. This makes them small enough to be used on any desktop, allowing decentralized scanning with outstanding image quality and speed.

The Visioneer 9450 and 9650 Laserfiche Intuition systems include a TWAIN driver as well as an ISIS driver certified by Pixel Translations to ensure that it functions properly with ISIS capable document imaging applications. ISIS (Image and Scanner Interface Specification) is a system of software modules, each of which performs a specific imaging-related function. ISIS modules are available to control scanners and printers, assist in the viewing of images, compress and convert the format of image data, and read or write files containing image data.
