Sharon.Chai@laserfiche.comLONG BEACH, CA - Laserfiche Document Imaging has received a Five Star VAR (value added reseller) rating from the leading VAR Business magazine, signifying an ideal match between company programs and the needs of the reseller community.
Fewer than 10% of competing technology companies qualified for the honor, according to Bonnie Markowitz, VAR Business editor in charge of the year-long selection process. Laserfiche was the only Southern California company on the list, according to VAR Business. Winners were scored on their ability to meet 16 criteria established by resellers and integrators as essential to their success.
Laserfiche, founded in 1987, develops document imaging and management software which has become an industry-standard in the local government and financial services markets. Over the past five years, sales have grown at an average rate of 30% annually, propelling Laserfiche into Deloitte and Touche’s roster of “Fast 50” California technology companies.
The Five Star rating traditionally enables recipients to recruit new VARs, develop partnerships with others in the industry and generate new business because of the acknowledged strong bond between software developers and their resellers.
“Laserfiche has already spelled success for hundreds of resellers worldwide,” said Chris Wacker, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We select them carefully, train and certify them, provide strong management and leads, provide them an outstanding software solution and have one of the best compensation formulas in the business.”
Wacker said Laserfiche and its VARs have established a market worth at least $150 million annually, with strong growth expected in 2003. He said Laserfiche is expanding in the health care, financial services and federal markets and expects VARs in those areas to do especially well.
“The market now sees Laserfiche as a ‘business essential’ just as e-mail and expanded telecommunications services,” Wacker added. “It gives users immediate access to stored intelligence, helping them make the best decisions in an uncertain time.”
Laserfiche joins Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and Cisco Systems as companies with the elite Five Star rating from VAR Business.
Laserfiche, headquartered in Long Beach, CA, is a division of Compulink Management Center. It creates software that allows government agencies and businesses to digitize records, and then distribute them to employees, business partners and customers. With its network of over 1,000 certified VARs, Laserfiche has over 23,000 installations, including government agencies, educational institutions, businesses (including a broad cross-section of Fortune 1000 corporations) and non-profit organizations.
