LONG BEACH, CA – The Laserfiche Institute, the recently established training, publishing and research facility operated by industry-leader Laserfiche Document Imaging, has selected Fujitsu scanners to be included in its new corporate training and education center opening in its Long Beach world headquarters.

“After analyzing a range of scanners, we decided the Fujitsu work-group and production scanners are an ideal fit for our training purposes,” said Chris Wacker, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Laserfiche Document Imaging. “Their reliability and ease of use are of high importance as we train resellers, users and our own staff to maximize the benefits of Laserfiche.”

The products selected, the Fujitsu 4010CU and 4120C will be subjected to heavy use by students learning best practices for digitally archiving documents using Laserfiche. The Fujitsu scanners include both automatic document feeders and flatbed scanners need to simulate real-world production needs.

Laserfiche educated over 500 resellers and users in 2002, straining the capacity of the existing training facilities and staff. Earlier this year, it committed to tripling the size of its educational center and established the Laserfiche Institute, with James Every as President, to develop a comprehensive training program. In addition, it launched a series of on-site trainings, with the most recent held for 20 resellers in Columbia, TN April 21-23.

“We see support and training as vital parts of Laserfiche’s market advantage,” Every, who also heads the corporate SST (Support, Service and Training) Group. “By establishing them as semi-academic functions through the Laserfiche Institute, we intend to enhance the professionalism of resellers and users, as well as encouraging the development of “best practices” which are increasingly important as we address the permanent archiving and compliance issues users face every day.”
