Sharon.Chai@laserfiche.comLong Beach, CA - Laserfiche officially unveiled Laserfiche Version 7, featuring multiple security measures required of today’s fast-paced, remotely-connected world, today at AIIM 2004 in New York.
Designed specifically to meet modern record-keeping challenges, Laserfiche 7 offers the document-centric workplace a single solution for managing high-volume paper, electronic, and e-mail content. Powerful new security features protect archives and ensure sensitive documents can be accessed only by established workgroups. System integrity controls prevent unauthorized users from altering critical metadata. Administrators gain the ability to create distinctive archival “volumes”, and then set specific controls governing users’ ability to view, create, modify, or delete images within each individual volume.
“Records managers need to know everything about who is accessing their mission-critical documents. They need a trustworthy, secure system that will preserve their digital archives for the future,” said Nien-Ling Wacker, Laserfiche founder and CEO. “Our security features are tested and established, so we customized our software to make records managers’ jobs easier.”
Laserfiche 7 is the backbone of the company’s Records Management Edition, which last October gained DoD 5015.2 STD certification. The certification affirmed Laserfiche 7’s ability to help records managers create secure environments capable of retrieving critical information on demand, while meeting legal compliance standards like Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and the USA PATRIOT Act.
Laserfiche 7 will run on MS-SQL and Oracle platforms. The open-ended software also interacts seamlessly with the Microsoft Office suite.
Personal demonstrations of Laserfiche 7 and the Records Management Edition are available to media and prospective customers on the AIIM show floor by appointment (booth 1761) or from world headquarters in Long Beach via Webinar. Contact Rob Allin at 562-988-1688 to coordinate a meeting.
