fmarlenee@laserfiche.comSAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO - Fuller Brush, one of the world’s best known manufacturers and distributors of household and industrial cleaning supplies, tracks the shipment and delivery of its products throughout the island of Puerto Rico using Laserfiche software.
“We ship thousands of orders each month and keeping track of the invoices with signed proofs of delivery was a headache”, said Melvin Rivera, assistant manager of Fuller’s San Juan headquarters. “When we learned about Laserfiche’s ability to digitize and store our records a year ago, and retrieve then quickly on demand, we were eager to use it. It met our expectations perfectly.”
Fuller’s Puerto Rican distribution center services orders from hotels, universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical plants and factories. It also works with 300 direct sales representatives calling on residences. The order sizes range from multi-pallets to individual items. Proving customers received orders is frequently required to assure prompt collection of statements, Rivera said. That’s where Laserfiche comes in.
“When our drivers deliver orders, they get signatures from the customers; these forms are immediately scanned into our Laserfiche system”, Rivera said. “We retrieve these forms instantly and show customers what was delivered when and who signed for it.”
Rivera credited Ivan Lebron, owner of Diginet, a division of Computer Care Center of Levittown, PR for suggesting the Laserfiche solution. Lebron, a Laserfiche reseller since 1995, works closely with Fuller Brush, providing hardware and software assistance.
“When I heard Melvin’s requirements, to keep thousands of records close at hand and accessible, but out of his way at the same time, I knew Laserfiche was the answer”, Lebron said. “When the delivery slips are scanned in, the vast majority are never needed again. But when a customer needs proof of delivery, Fuller can provide it immediately.”
“Fuller Brush’s success with our product is gratifying and another example of creativity in using our desktop software to solve everyday business problems”, said Nien-Ling Wacker , Laserfiche founder and CEO. “We help people from drowning in piles of paper, while keeping essential information close at hand.”
