“Business opportunities are unlimited for American entrepreneurs with new ideas and the willingness to work hard,” Secretary Chao said. “The federal government recognizes that most innovations come from small businesses and frequently initiates new programs to support entrepreneurial enterprises.”
Ms. Wacker addressed ways can improve productivity during a session with U.S. Labor Department regional administrator Jenny L. Erwin. Giving employees the tools to work smarter is a critical element, since government regulations often prevent organizations from tinkering with the standard 40 hour work week or special "handshake" agreements with individual employees.
“In my thirty years as a working woman, I have found that having easy to use technology resources is the best way to ensure productivity and balance in employees’ lives,” Ms. Wacker said. “Good technology to locate and use company information keeps workers from feeling overwhelmed on the job and motivates them to do their best work.”
Other panelists contributing to the productivity panel were Cathy Leibow of FamCare, Inc., Vivian Shimoyama of Breakthru Unlimited and Josefina Caringal, CPA of J.C. Cruz, Certified Public Accountants.
