LONG BEACH, CA - Laserfiche announced a worldwide educational and marketing effort to demystify electronic document management and demonstrate how its technology improves productivity and simplifies compliance with government regulations.

At the same time, the company released an upgraded version of its core product, Laserfiche 7, with an optional Records Management Edition® tightly integrated to the core platform, providing total lifecycle management from creation to final disposition.

In addition to managing paper and electronic documents, Laserfiche 7 includes comprehensive security measures with user audit trails and extended administrative controls for centralized management.

The Records Management Edition has already earned DoD 5015.2 STD records management certification, the de facto industry standard endorsed by the National Archives and Records Administration.

To prepare for the initiatives, Laserfiche conducted extensive market research, interviewing current and prospective users.

“Research showed our audience needs instant access to stored information so they can perform more efficiently; in short, they want to ‘run smarter’,” said Gerald Bengtson, Laserfiche president and COO. “But some technology vendors have made the selection process difficult and overly complicated.”

Bengtson said Laserfiche is adopting a “new look and feel”, including a new logo and graphics overhaul, reflecting the company’s commitment to clarity and productivity.

Bengtson, who joined Laserfiche a year ago after a 30-year management career at American Honda, is leading a comprehensive project to prepare the company for the future with founder, chairman and CEO Nien-Ling Wacker.

“Our opportunity is to target specific vertical markets with success stories of our innovative solutions, showing how they improve operations,” Bengtson said. “Since 1987, we’ve helped 21,000 local and federal government offices, financial services companies, health care organizations and educational institutions manage their records.”

Laserfiche, which sells through a worldwide network of value-added resellers, has already launched training programs through its educational arm, the Laserfiche Institute.

“The research found that our users view our brand as ‘direct, accomplished and ingenious,” Nien-Ling Wacker said. “That reflects the insights all of us have put into our products.”

Laserfiche (www.laserfiche.com) creates simple and elegant solutions that help organizations to run smarter. Headquartered in Long Beach , Calif. , Laserfiche has grown at an average rate of over 30 percent annually in the past five years.
