VPCIVicki Pattle, the founder and president of VP Consulting, Inc. (VPCI), is quick to share the credit for her firm’s success with Laserfiche CEO Nien-Ling Wacker—and not just because Wacker provides her with high quality products to sell.

“Nien-Ling has always treated us like family,” Pattle says. “Our decision to follow her lead in treating our customers that way has been instrumental in our success. We’ve put a lot of effort into fulfilling that commitment, and we have a very loyal customer base as a result.”

A Laserfiche reseller since 1993, VPCI has qualified for the annual Laserfiche Winners Circle each year since its inception in 1999. Last year, the Oregon-based firm was one of five resellers to surpass $1 million in sales of Laserfiche products and services. That momentum is continuing this year, led by the firm’s recent selection for an enterprise Laserfiche deployment for the city of Salem, Oregon’s capitol and second largest city.

“We won out over heavy competition,” Pattle says. “Laserfiche stood out as the best solution, but it definitely helped that we received excellent references from the Marion County government (where Salem is located) and our other local government clients. It also helped that we had experience replacing a well-known competing product in Marion County, so Salem’s decision to do the same was a lot easier.”

VPCI establishes strong ties with its clients by providing top-tier solution development, consulting, training and implementation. In addition to sales and support calls and face-to-face meetings, VPCI maintains those strong ties by publishing a client-oriented newsletter six times per year and by hosting an annual VPCI/Laserfiche workshop. Just 20 customers attended the first workshop in 2000 (with Nien-Ling Wacker in attendance representing Laserfiche). Last October, more than 200 clients jammed into the Chinook Winds Convention Center in Lincoln City, OR, for the ninth annual event.

Early registrations are running well ahead of last year for the tenth annual workshop, which will take place over five days this September, again at the Chinook Winds Convention Center. “I took Nien-Ling’s lead in starting the workshops after attending the first Laserfiche Winners Circle conference,” Pattle says. “It’s now the highlight of the year for us.”

In tandem with providing excellent customer service, Pattle feels that selling Laserfiche document management solutions exclusively has been another strategic advantage for VPCI. “It makes it really easy to sell Laserfiche, because you get to know the system so well and you’re never competing against yourself,” she says.

Based in Eugene, OR, VPCI is the leading Laserfiche VAR in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to Pattle, the VPCI team includes Michael, lead systems analyst; Ernie, regional manager for Washington; Bryce, technical engineer; Steven, technical engineer; Travis, technical engineer; Kristine, project manager and technical support supervisor; Jim, regional manager for Oregon; Megan, finance manager; and Mona, administrative assistant.
