August VAR of the Month: One Source Document Solutions
OSDS is succeeding as an enterprise solutions provider because of timing and their industry-specific expertise in key vertical markets.
August 1st, 2008 Comment on this articleOne Source Document Solutions (OSDS) works mostly with small to mid-sized organizations, but always thinks big on their behalf.
“Our goal with each client is to improve their efficiency and effectiveness,” says Kevin Smith, senior vice president of sales and a founder of the firm. “In some instances, that means focusing solely on eliminating paper records and enabling them to store and retrieve their files much faster. With every client, however, we keep the big picture in mind, which is that the really big gains are going to come when you integrate Laserfiche with other applications and/or set up workflows to automate business processes.”
With that kind of thinking as a foundation, OSDS has built up a large and loyal client base that is notable in two ways. First, they give OSDS very high marks for customer service, especially for helping them to find ways to get more value from their Laserfiche solutions. And second, they include an exceptionally large number of customers that treat Laserfiche as a mission-critical application and deploy it enterprise-wide.
In Smith’s view, OSDS is succeeding as an enterprise solutions provider because of timing and their industry-specific expertise in key vertical markets. “When we became a Laserfiche VAR in 1998, we believed in the enterprise approach, but the markets we were targeting weren’t ready for it yet,” he says. “As Laserfiche became a very cost-effective and enterprise-capable application, though, our clients began to realize the return on investment they’d gain from this type of solution.”
OSDS has enterprise clients in a range of vertical markets, but is perhaps best known for their work with county governments. Through their One Source/ADI partnership, OSDS is also a leading Laserfiche VAR in the financial services sector, supporting clients ranging from one-person financial advisory offices to major national companies. OSDS sees this vertical as a key growth market and a tremendous opportunity for continuing success.
Looking ahead, OSDS expects the introduction of Laserfiche 8 and Workflow 8 to enable them to continue to grow strongly through expansions of their existing implementations and through new opportunities, including even more enterprise deployments.
Based in Greensboro, NC, the OSDS Laserfiche team includes Kevin Smith, Keith Smith, vice president/sales, John Caso, sales and consulting/financial services, Sabrina Cox, sales support/financial services, Sheila Baranello, document systems specialist, Kirk Pugh, sales, David Swan, sales and implementations, Phil Joyce, senior developer, Brad Kinney, senior technician, Jim Alpern, senior technician, and Nathan Whicker, technician.
