Bakersfield, located between Los Angeles and Fresno in California’s Central Valley, is the fastest growing city in the United States with a population of over 250,000. The city’s economy relies on agriculture, petroleum extraction and refining, and manufacturing.

Situation

Laserfiche users since 1998, the city wanted to integrate its document repository with its SunGard HTE system.

Solution

The city used the Laserfiche Toolkit to integrate Laserfiche with the HTE Work Order, Code Enforcement and Accounts Payable modules.

Benefits

• The city uses Laserfiche in all 19 city departments, providing benefits from human resources and public works to the fire and police departments.
• Public works staff store photos of graffiti in Laserfiche, which are linked to work orders in HTE. Police officers then use them to identify and arrest graffiti taggers.
• The code enforcement department stores pictures of code violations in Laserfiche, which are retrievable from HTE.
