The City of Buffalo, MN, is a rapidly growing city of over 15,000. Located 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Buffalo boasts a vibrant arts scene and a wealth of outdoor activities.
Situation
Buffalo had experience with document management, but had outgrown its digital system. Staff were having support problems after the city upgraded its operating system, and searching had become painfully slow. With their sights set on efficient search and retrieval, as well as integration with the city’s GIS system, Buffalo began the search for a feature-rich, easy-to-use content management solution.
Solution
With help from their Laserfiche solutions provider, Buffalo implemented a Laserfiche ECM system city-wide. GeoDoc, from Urban Crossroads, Inc., enabled Buffalo to link Laserfiche with its GIS software, ArcIMS from ESRI. Laserfiche Quick Fields automates forms processing, while Web Access enables city staff to access documents through Buffalo’s mobile wireless network.
