Building Better Billing Practices

Utilizing an integration with its GE Centricity practice management system, Professional Physicians Services (PPS), a medical billing company serving Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, uses Quick Fields and Workflow to significantly reduce staff time and effort. So much so, that productivity and gross billings are both up 20%.

How does it work?

  • Quick Fields automatically extracts check/transaction # and insurance carrier from incoming bank image files, tagging this info as metadata in Laserfiche and storing the file by date.
  • Workflow then routes these files to specific claims processors (delegating to an alternate if necessary) and returns them to its original folder.

Besides accelerating processing, the PPS case study also details improved security, faster claims follow-up, and system using Laserfiche Audit Trail for reporting, replacing spreadsheets.
