Empower general sessions are always punctuated with keynotes that reflect on the past year, reveal exciting new product releases and highlight Laserfiche’s future goals. This year is no different.
Members of the Laserfiche executive team and special guest Pierre Ferrari from Heifer International will take to the stage to inform and inspire the Laserfiche community.
Laserfiche CEO
Chris Wacker is CEO and co-founder of Laserfiche. Over the course of almost 30 years with the company, he has been instrumental in developing Laserfiche as the standard for intuitive, reliable and high-volume Enterprise Content Management in government, financial services, education and other markets.
Chris has been a pioneer of digital document imaging and a driving force behind Laserfiche sales, marketing and product development. He has been responsible for the transitional messaging of Laserfiche functionality from high-volume storage and instant retrieval to digital forms and electronic workflow.
Laserfiche President
Karl Chan has been a driving force in the company’s software development since joining Laserfiche in 1989. He held a variety of technology leadership roles, including Manager of Software Development and Chief Engineer, before being named Chief Technology Officer in 2005 and President in 2014.
In his roles at Laserfiche, Karl has led worldwide engineering operations and product development, expanded the Laserfiche product line and directed an integrated product strategy and roadmap.
Karl also directed the development and launch of Laserfiche 9 in 2013, which won the Computerworld Hong Kong Award for Best Enterprise Content Management Software, the Stevie Award for Best New Business Product of the Year and the Best in Biz Award for Best New Enterprise Product of the Year.
Heifer International President and CEO
As president and CEO of Heifer International, Pierre Ferrari joined in 2010 with more than 40 years of business experience. Ferrari has a keen interest in sustainable and ethical development and the methods needed to get there. He is a marketer and entrepreneur and more recently, a social venture developer. He worked for many years with Coca-Cola USA, before deciding in 1995 to focus his energies and business acumen on social issues—to use his skills and aptitude to help, invest in and partner with people living in material poverty to help them achieve self-sufficiency, independence and health, goals that directly align with Heifer’s empowerment-oriented mission.
Ferrari is a current board member of the Small Enterprise Assistance Fund, which provides equity financing to small and medium enterprises in developing countries and emerging markets; InterAction, an alliance organization of 180 NGOs united by a commitment to work with the world’s poor and vulnerable, serving as a convener and thought leader to make the world a more peaceful, just and prosperous place; and Global Impact, an organization that raises resources and partnerships that help the world’s most vulnerable people by providing integrated, partner-specific advisory and other services.
Ferrari holds a master’s degree in Economics from The University of Cambridge and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
Laserfiche Senior Vice President of Sales
Hedy Belttary has an extensive history with the company, having worked previously as Director of Government Sales, Director of Business Development and Vice President of Vertical Marketing.
During those years, she worked closely with company founder Nien-Ling Wacker to standardize and spread a marketing and sales model that emphasizes in-person education, peer-to-peer training, vendor partnerships and a widespread reseller channel. This hallmark strategy has helped make Laserfiche a global leader in the ECM industry.
With her unique experience as both a Laserfiche executive and a Laserfiche VAR, Hedy now focuses on strengthening the relationship between Laserfiche and the VAR channel to grow sales opportunities.
