As smartphones and tablets become more popular, many companies are implementing “bring your own device” policies to increase mobility, and reduce the number of devices that users have to manage and companies have to buy.

This infographic is the result of a survey of 9,766 CIOs in 17 countries, conducted last quarter by Forrester Research.

Laptops? According to the survey, an estimated 258 million workers around the world choose their own.

Smartphones? 129 million, 48%, buy their own smartphones. 37% run on Google’s Android platform, but 208 million users want Apple iPhones.

Tablets? Only 21% use them. 12% use iPads, but 200 million, 32%, want Microsoft Windows tablets.
