The Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties have announced the results of the 2017 Digital Counties Survey—and Laserfiche is excited to announce that the majority of this year’s winners are Laserfiche customers.

The annual survey, conducted by CDG in partnership with NaCo, evaluates how counties are progressing toward the goal of becoming fully digital. CDG selects the top respondents among four population cohorts and awards them with the honor of “Top Digital County.” These leaders in the digital transformation of government have spearheaded innovative initiatives that save tax dollars, increase efficiency, and enhance transparency, cybersecurity and citizen engagement.

The survey also gives counties the opportunity to showcase how they perform in key areas, including transparency, mobility, citizen engagement, collaborative initiatives, cybersecurity, efficiency and resiliency.

Here are a few examples of how counties are using Laserfiche in their digital transformation:

New to the list of Top Digital Counties this year is York County, VA. The county’s social services department—which serves on the front line of intervention, assessment and service provision—used Laserfiche ECM to automate recruiting, hiring and new employee onboarding, and provide instant and secure access to employee records while managing records retention. The initiative saved significant time and resources that can now be redirected toward hiring top social services professionals to serve York County’s growing population.

Oakland County, MI, achieves Top Digital County status for the 13th consecutive year for its ongoing innovation and dedication to government to government initiatives. Since implementing Laserfiche, the county has automated key government functions including human resources, financial services and public records requests. The county is also a champion for shared services, offering best practices and technology tools through its G2G Marketplace, which services more than 100 government entities in Oakland County and beyond.

For the 4th consecutive year, Tompkins County, NY, has been named a Top Digital County. Home to three institutions of higher education, Tompkins County serves a population of diverse needs. The county enhanced its online services and increased access to information using Laserfiche’s electronic forms and business process automation capabilities. After finding success with Laserfiche electronic records management, Tompkins County invited neighboring municipalities to go digital, as well, and implemented a shared service initiative known as Tompkins Shared Services Electronic Records Repository (TSSERR). The program extends electronic records management capabilities to over 20 local municipalities and reduces overall costs for TSSERR members while ensuring that records across Tompkins County are compatible and easily accessible.

Congratulations to the Laserfiche customers that have been named 2017 Top Digital Counties:
