We’re having another Hangout! Please join us bright and early, on-site at Empower 2014, on January 16 at 9:30 am EST (6:30 am PST) to discuss what’s ahead for business and technology in 2014. We’ll be talking about trends such as:

  • The digitization and mobilization of work: How will the digital world and mobility change the nature of work in 2014?  Booz-Allen describes digitization as “the mass adoption of digital applications through connected services and devices.” Increasingly, these devices are mobile –- but where mobility can add productivity, it can also add insecurity.  How does a company balance them?
  • Integrating enterprise content management (ECM) with business process management (BPM): As processes increasingly create born-digital content, it becomes quicker and more efficient to develop digitized business processes that can streamline traditional processes that had to allow time to enter (and re-enter) data, then mail, fax, and photocopy documents. How should a company look for and eliminate bottlenecks in 2014?
  • Collaborative knowledge management: Digital data and processes can be more easily captured and shared in a company, region, or industry. This could also include crowdsourcing, or the ability to generate and collect knowledge from a variety of people, including customers and citizens. What will be the most effective ways to capture and share this knowledge?

Our guests will be:

  • Chris Noyes, business analyst, Florida League of Cities
  • Melissa Webster, head of content and digital media technologies research at IDC
  • Kimberly Samuelson, director of ECM strategy at Laserfiche
  • Moderated by Emma Gardner, content strategist at The Economist Group

To participate, register for the Hangout here. The Hangout will air live at the same link on January 16.

Ask your own questions about the coming year in the comments section below and we may answer them on air.

We’re looking forward to Hanging out!
