LONG BEACH, CA (Laserfiche) October 7, 2008—Laserfiche® announced today that it will be launching its new software solution Laserfiche Avante™, which makes enterprise-level business process management (BPM) technology available to registered investment advisors (RIAs) and independent broker/dealers (IBDs) at an attractive price point. Laserfiche Avante was unveiled at the Financial Planning Association annual conference in Boston in a presentation by Laserfiche and Spire Investment Partners, an RIA and broker-dealer firm with more than $1 billion in customer assets based in McLean, Va.

Combining key aspects of an end-to-end document management system with critical workflow automation tools, Laserfiche Avante will streamline advisors’ back offices, simplify their operations and allow them to scale their business on existing infrastructure. Laserfiche Avante is geared for small- to mid-sized firms of two to 100 users and is scheduled to be widely available to the financial services industry by year-end.

“For small- to mid-sized RIA and broker dealer firms, BPM has long been considered a luxury,” said Laserfiche Senior Vice President of Business Development Chris Wacker. “But as Wall Street undergoes change, demand for independent investment advice has increased, and firms are finding BPM an essential element for business success. Plus, it is easier to budget for and more economical than taking on additional staff.”

“Laserfiche BPM technology has enabled our firm to streamline our business processes and greatly reduce our paperwork, to the benefit of our advisors,” said Paul Murphy, Principal at Spire. “In today’s rapidly changing marketplace for financial advice, we see a great acceleration in advisors seeking out superior technology platforms, particularly advisors in the wire house setting as their parent firms undergo transition.”

Joe Salpietro of Xpyria Investment Advisors, a RIA firm based in Pittsburgh, PA, added: “Our firm has been earnestly searching for a cost-effective provider of an efficient, ‘all-in-one’ solution to our administrative workflow. We were surprised and delighted to find how powerful and inexpensive the Laserfiche Avante system will be.”

Laserfiche Avante’s named user licenses include document management, Workflow™, Snapshot™ and e-mail functionality, all for $500 per license. Servers are sold individually and support industry-standard Microsoft® and Oracle® database platforms.

Like all Laserfiche products, Laserfiche Avante is built on Microsoft technology so it closely integrates with Microsoft platforms. Interoperability with Office applications, such as Word, Excel and SharePoint, and sophisticated capture tools assist advisory firms in seamless document integration and unification.
