Fortis Guernsey has been recognized for its outstanding achievement following the introduction of a comprehensive new document management system across all four strands of the operation – in just four months.
Working in close partnership with Isle of Man based Viking Office Systems, and using software developed by Laserfiche, Fortis Guernsey commenced the complex integration project in October 2005. The key to the success of any document management process is meticulous planning and a clear understanding of the requirements. For Fortis Guernsey a new system was an essential pre-requisite to meeting ambitious growth targets in a secure environment. As a result of stunning teamwork and faultless planning by the project team the system went live in January 2006.
It represents a significant achievement for Fortis Guernsey and its 230 staff, and their efforts have been recognized by the presentation of a Laserfiche ‘Excellence in Innovation’ award. Project Managers traveled to the Douglas headquarters of Viking Office Systems to receive the award from Laserfiche executives.
Project Manager at Fortis Guernsey, Christina Bacon played a major part in the process: “This has been one of the most positive and smoothest running projects I have ever been involved with,” she said. Evidence of the benefits of the new system have already emerged in Fortis Guernsey’s Secretarial function where Christina estimates significant time is being saved which was previously spent sourcing paperwork.
Jeffrey Green, Director of Compliance for Financial Solutions at Laserfiche, said Fortis Guernsey was a shining example of an organization that had maximized the benefits of implementing a document management solution: “Not only is Fortis Guernsey using Laserfiche to digitize and store documents, but they have also maximized the software’s capability to automate complex business processes, bringing immediate business benefits.”
Viking Office Systems specialize in the provision of document management systems for the finance industry, and has achieved the Laserfiche Winners Circle status for the last four years. Rupert Leaton, the company’s Director of Sales said the Fortis Guernsey project had been a fine example of teamwork and professionalism of which all involved should be proud.
