Sean Tang has been promoted to Managing Director of Laserfiche International Ltd. (LFI) to lead the company’s international operations. Leveraging over 10 years of experience with Laserfiche working in both corporate and channel sales roles, Tang will manage a team of sales, marketing, technical support and operations professionals working out of the company’s international headquarters in Hong Kong.
“Sean’s years of experience make him an ideal leader for Laserfiche’s global organization,” said Chris Wacker, Laserfiche CEO. “Sean has cultivated a keen understanding of Laserfiche and our global market, and his leadership will be integral in delivering Laserfiche to enterprises worldwide.”
“The recent release of Laserfiche 10 marks an evolution in enterprise content management that is particularly exciting for our international markets,” said Tang. “With new features that enhance teamwork and collaboration, Laserfiche 10 makes information workers’ jobs much easier while simultaneously making them far more productive.
“I’m thrilled to help the LFI team achieve new levels of excellence through projects such as localized sales and marketing efforts, and new, targeted technology such as additional OCR languages that will drive Laserfiche’s worldwide presence,” added Tang.
In his previous role at Laserfiche, Tang managed nearly 200 resellers and distributors on five continents, focusing on complex global implementations involving multi-continent deployments, integration with existing IT applications and intricate business process automation. Educated in Belgium and the United States, Tang is fluent in English, French and Cantonese, and enjoys using his conversational knowledge of Spanish, Dutch and Mandarin whenever possible. He is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, where he studied International Economics and Chinese Studies.
After more than 25 years of service to the company, Phyllis Chen—Managing Director of LFI for the past seven years—will transition her responsibilities to Tang. Chen was instrumental in launching LFI and expanding the Laserfiche brand to a global market. She will remain on the LFI Board of Directors, where she will contribute her counsel on special projects. Tang will continue to serve as Vice President of International Business.
