Laserfiche Unveils Plans for Campus Expansion in Long Beach

3 min read

Laserfiche, a leading global provider of business process and information management software, today announced a major expansion of its global headquarters in Long Beach, California. The expanded campus will accommodate the company’s rapid growth, with employees projected to double from 300 to 600 by the year 2025. Laserfiche, which has 420 employees globally, will also continue to grow worldwide.

“Laserfiche is entering an era of accelerated innovation, which requires workforce growth and the evolution of our headquarters to align with our visionary products,” said Laserfiche Chairman and CEO Chris Wacker. “We are committed to continued investment in Long Beach, and look forward to bringing hundreds of well-paying tech jobs to the city.”

Designed by Studio One Eleven, Laserfiche’s new office will serve as the gateway into the burgeoning Bixby Knolls neighborhood. Located on Long Beach Boulevard near the San Diego Freeway, the building will be the company’s fourth structure in the area, solidifying a growing campus environment for the organization and creating a local landmark.

“The City of Long Beach is committed to embracing technology and innovation that will move our community forward. As a rapidly growing leader in the tech sector, Laserfiche is a valued city partner for the software it builds and its contributions to the city,” says Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia. “As an employer and a business, Laserfiche plays a significant role in Long Beach’s economic development and we look forward to the company’s continued expansion.”

Laserfiche, which moved its company headquarters to Long Beach in 2001, also has offices in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, as well as Guadalajara, Hong Kong, London, Shanghai and Toronto. As part of its investment in the regions in which it operates, Laserfiche recently launched #LaserficheCares, a corporate social responsibility initiative dedicated to making a positive impact through community outreach. In 2018, Laserfiche contributed over $100,000 to local nonprofit organizations and more than 1,300 volunteer hours in the City of Long Beach and surrounding area alone.

In line with these core values, Laserfiche’s new building will transform formerly empty lots—originally intended for oil extraction—into a contribution to Laserfiche employees, customers and the City of Long Beach. The structure is also targeted for LEED and WELL Gold certifications.

Urbana Development, LLC, a privately held real estate company based in Long Beach, is leading the development efforts and overseeing all facets of the pre-build, construction and post-construction phases. The Laserfiche headquarters is scheduled to be completed in 2021.

“Laserfiche has shown a real commitment to Long Beach,” said Urbana Development Managing Partner Richard Lewis. “This architecturally significant building will support an open and collaborative work experience for employees while resolving unique environmental challenges.”

“We worked closely with Laserfiche and Urbana Development to create a place that is healthy, energy efficient and fosters innovation and collaboration,” said Michael Bohn, senior principal for Studio One Eleven. “This new facility builds on Laserfiche’s commitment to creating a positive work environment and an iconic gateway for the community of Bixby Knolls.”
