Laserfiche today announced that the Houston Community College System (HCCS) will deploy Laserfiche records management to promote transparency, consistency and efficiency of the college’s electronic records program and enhance student services. HCCS, one of the largest institutions of higher education in the country, selected Laserfiche for its robust records management capabilities and proven enterprise business process automation solutions.

“Laserfiche provides the level of access, efficiency and security that is conducive to the higher education environment, which requires using technology to constantly evolve and meet students’ needs,” said Brehon Evans, Director, Records Management, at HCCS. “After evaluating leading records management solutions, we found that Laserfiche’s intuitive tools align with our vision of being an example of innovative thinking to all two-year institutions of higher learning.”

HCCS will implement Laserfiche as a cross-departmental records management system, enabling the organization to:

  • Eliminate the storage of paper documents
  • Facilitate decision-making by centralizing records and increasing access to the most accurate and up-to-date information
  • Streamline procedures surrounding retention and compliance
  • Manage access rights and protect sensitive information
  • Reclaim employee time that can be spent on student services

“Enterprise-level records management requires adoption in every business unit for it to be effective. Laserfiche provides a transparent platform for consistent enforcement of policies and standards,” said Jereb Cheatham, Vice President of Global Process Innovation at Laserfiche. “Laserfiche’s DoD 5015.2-certified records management has made it the system of record for today’s top higher education institutions. HCCS joins elite colleges and universities across the country that provide the best possible technology and service to staff, faculty and students.”

“The Houston Community College System looks forward to implementing Laserfiche, a state-of-the-art system that will create a cohesive, holistic, 21st-century approach to electronic records management,” said Evans. “We fully expect Laserfiche to help us achieve our goal of remaining the No. 1 community college in Texas.”
