Organizations Recognized by Laserfiche Run Smarter Awards for Outstanding Records Management Programs

Laserfiche announced today that three organizations have won Laserfiche Run Smarter® Awards for effecting organizational improvement through modern records management programs.
“Records managers are on the front lines of managing risk for their organizations,” said Chris Wacker, CEO of Laserfiche. “Through efficient and robust records management programs, these Run Smarter Awards winners fortified their information governance to maximize the value of their data while minimizing regulatory costs.”
- City of Saint John, New Brunswick: As a part of an initiative to centralize the Community Planning, Building Inspection and Infrastructure Development departments, the City of Saint John digitized its recordkeeping system with Laserfiche. As a result, the city was able to eliminate paper filing and automate building permit review, ultimately shortening the turnaround time for issuing permits and earning the city a national award for municipal innovation.
- North County Transit District: A vital part of San Diego’s regional transportation network, the North County Transit District moves 12 million passengers annually. The organization used Laserfiche to centralize document storage and improve records management processes and procedures. By automating the review, approval and archival of important documents, the organization created an intuitive, accurate, and efficient records management program that has saved about $200,000 in paper-related costs.
- Physicians East: Multispecialty health care practice Physicians East automated records management with Laserfiche to eliminate the need for physical file storage and improve daily employee productivity and processes. The new records management program increased access to vital information by authorized personnel, enabled some staff to work remotely, and enhanced information governance, crucial for a healthcare organization which must comply with a number of regulations.
Each year, the Run Smarter Awards recognizes organizations that use Laserfiche enterprise content management (ECM) software to improve productivity, transform business processes and realize visionary initiatives. The Laserfiche Run Smarter Award winners were announced during the Laserfiche Empower 2017 Conference. In total, 31 organizations from around the world were honored during the event.
