LONG BEACH, CA (Laserfiche)āJanuary 12, 2010āLaserfiche today announced the winners of its annual Run Smarter Awards program, including the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District of California (CCCSD). Each year, Laserfiche recognizes organizations that have been successful in solving their most pressing information management challenges through innovative use of Laserfiche technology.
āOver the years, CCCSD has created a reliable and efficient infrastructure to handle the wastewater needs of thousands of Central Contra Costa residents,ā said John Phillips, IT systems analyst for CCCSD. āLaserfiche adds similar efficiency and reliability to our IT infrastructure, allowing us to provide our staff with faster access to the content they need to do their jobs.ā
The special district uses Laserfiche ECM to manage a wide variety of content, including permit job files, maps and drawings, right of way agreement files, employee files and standard operating procedures.
Of particular note is CCCSDās integration of Laserfiche with its GIS system. The in-house integration grants engineers, permit counter staff and field maintenance crews instantaneous access to scanned permits and record drawings.
āPrior to the integration, field crews had to take the time to retrieve copies from a variety of filing rooms,ā said Carl Von Stetten, information systems analyst, Engineering Support, CCCSD. āThe integration has enabled our crews to be more productive in the field.ā
Additional benefits CCCSD has realized as a result of implementing Laserfiche ECM include a reduced need for storage space, increased staff efficiency and improved disaster recovery.
Other 2010 Run Smarter winners include: Cambridge Financial Group; Collin County, TX; Elk River Police Department; LaPorte County, IN; Los Angeles County Office of Education; the city of Norfolk, VA; RMS; Spindletop MHMR Services; State of Guerrero, Mexico; Texas A&M University; and the Texas Medical Board.
