This course has replaced the Laserfiche Specialist course.

This introductory course is designed for all users new to Laserfiche. The basic functionality of the Laserfiche desktop and web clients are introduced, preparing users to quickly locate and use documents.

  • Build a Quick Fields session and apply best practices

Repository Architect

Are you responsible for setting up a new document repository or reorganizing one that’s gone off the rails? This course covers proven practices for planning, designing and maintaining a well-organized repository.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Design a Laserfiche respository with ease-of-use in mind.
  • Gather requirements to determine the goals and expectations of a Laserfiche implementation.
  • Manage project implementation in an agile manner.

Using Laserfiche Forms

This course is intended for users who need to participate in or manage tasks individually or as part of a team. This course will also introduce Team managers to the reporting tools available for analyzing team performance.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • Use the Forms Tasks page, including starting a Forms process, organizing and managing task lists, as well as claiming and reassigning tasks
  • Work as a team, which includes completing team tasks, creating, managing and administering a team
  • Identify process bottlenecks and analyze trends by using Laserfiche Forms dashboards

This course has replaced the Capture I course.

This course is intended for users who will be responsible for scanning content into Laserfiche using Basic and Standard Scanning. In addition, a brief introduction is given to the other available capture methods.

You'll learn:

  • How to use Basic Scanning to scan single documents.
  • How to use Standard Scanning to scan batches of documents
  • Tips and tricks like keyboard shortcuts and setting default options
  • How to best order image enhancements to optimize results
  • What additional capture methods are available to bring content into Laserfiche

Capture II: Quick Fields

This course delves into how to perform advanced document capture and image processing with Laserfiche Quick Fields from the basics through best practices and troubleshooting.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Use Quick Fields to process documents.
  • Automate data capture with add-ons.
  • Administer batch scanning sessions.

Capture Workflow

Triggering automation from the point of document capture enables processes that are more efficient and require less oversight. This course outlines how to combine the functionality of multiple Laserfiche products to streamline an entire business process starting at document capture and conversion.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Connect document capture with business process automation.
  • Rework and streamline existing processes from start to finish.
  • Improving efficiency, accessibility, and accountability throughout the document management process.

Building Laserfiche Workflows

This course is meant both for users who are brand new to Laserfiche Workflow, and for those who are maintaining their organization’s existing Workflow environment.

The first part of our lessons will focus on defining what Laserfiche Workflow is and in identifying when it is the best tool for the job. Subsequent lessons will focus building, testing, and expanding on a basic workflow, as well troubleshooting and reporting.

The Laserfiche Workflow course that precedes this one, will cover advanced design techniques and integration, and will also provide a more in-depth look into the Workflow Designer.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • Describe Laserfiche Workflow and business processes.
  • Gather information and diagram a flowchart based on your findings.
  • Navigate the Workflow Designer.
  • Identify components in three main parts of Workflow Designer: the canvas, the Toolbox, and the properties pane.
  • Build, test, and publish a basic workflow.
  • Automate and expand a workflow using more advanced activities.

Designing Laserfiche Forms

Replacing paper forms with e-forms doesn’t need to involve IT knowledge or custom coding. This course gets you started with easily creating Laserfiche Forms and business processes.

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Create and design web-based forms using the Forms Designer to capture information
  • Build business processes using the Process Diagram to define how information should be routed, managed, and interacted with
  • Utilize Forms reporting tools to analyze business processes and perform troubleshooting
  • Administer Forms security, manage users and teams, and configure data sources

This course is designed for system administrators who will use the Web Administration Console to design repositories and their corresponding security policies. This course will outline best practices for creating folder structure, templates, and users and groups. Security will be considered at each step.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • List the key components of Laserfiche system architecture and how they work together
  • Create a new repository within an existing Laserfiche system
  • Design a repository using best practices
  • Create trustees (users and groups)
  • Create a template based on how users will find documents
  • Troubleshoot common user issues

System Administration II

This course is designed for system administrators who intend to use more advanced features to secure, back up, and monitor Laserfiche repositories. This course focuses on optimizing a Laserfiche installation, rather than outlining specific procedures for implementation.

  • Optimize search engine settings.
  • Back up Laserfiche repositories and settings.
