LONG BEACH, CA (Laserfiche)—January 12, 2010—Laserfiche today announced the winners of its annual Run Smarter Awards program, including the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE). Each year, Laserfiche recognizes organizations that have been successful in solving their most pressing information management challenges through innovative use of Laserfiche technology.

LACOE operates the largest Head Start-State Preschool program in the country, contracting with 26 agencies and serving more than 25,000 children each year. According to Shirley Lee, an administrative analyst with LACOE, “Head Start has three units that monitor the services we provide and the agencies we contract with. Prior to implementing Laserfiche, it took a lot of time and effort to track down all of the information necessary to gain a 360 degree view of our operations.”

Using Laserfiche, LACOE’s Head Start program now scans all paper documents and stores them, along with electronic content, in a central, secure Laserfiche repository. With a single click, authorized employees can easily access all of the information they need to gain a complete, 360 degree view of the agency’s operations.

Additional benefits LACOE has realized as a result of using Laserfiche include storage savings, fewer missing files and more efficient employees.

Other 2010 Run Smarter winners include: Cambridge Financial Group; California’s Central Contra Costa Sanitary District; Collin County, TX; Elk River Police Department; LaPorte County, IN; the city of Norfolk, VA; RMS; Spindletop MHMR Services; State of Guerrero, Mexico; Texas A&M University; and the Texas Medical Board.
