Loudoun County, VA, has been named one of America’s top digital counties by e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties. The annual Digital Counties Survey aims to locate pioneering county governments and recognize them as adaptive IT leaders, collaborators and arbiters of the public trust.

One of the fastest growing counties in the U.S., Loudoun County leverages technology to improve services and efficiency across all facets of the organization. As part of its innovative approach to managing information, the county integrated its Laserfiche enterprise content management system with Oracle enterprise resource planning software to streamline operations across 30 departments.

“Delivering services faster and more efficiently is the goal behind every one of our technology initiatives,” said Jakub Jedrzejczak, Enterprise Imaging Team Manager at Loudoun County. Jedrzejczak was also honored with the Tom Wayman Leadership Award at the Laserfiche 2016 Empower Conference for his leadership, vision and commitment to innovative use of ECM. “Core systems such as Laserfiche enable our staff to develop creative solutions and position the county as a good steward of public funds.”

Recent improvements include the use of electronic forms in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services department. The electronic forms facilitate quicker and easier registration for community programs, and provide program managers and camp leaders mobile access to information such as emergency contacts, eliminating the need to hand-carry boxes of paper forms on outdoor excursions.
