New York, NY – Ruby Digital, Inc.®, a customized technology solutions provider, has joined Laserfiche® as a new value-added reseller (VAR). Ruby Digital has also joined the Laserfiche Professional Developer Partnership™ (PDP) program to market its new digital pen-and-paper technology, Digital Paperwork,™ which utilizes the Expedata® platform to enable Anoto® technology.
Digital Paperwork is integrated with the Laserfiche document management system to allow handwritten data to be captured digitally. Specifically, Digital Paperwork takes digital snapshots of the pattern on the paper—more than 50 pictures per second—and converts it to a digital image. This real-time data capture results in an immediate solution to tedious, paper-based work processes, initiating workflows and capturing annotations without typing.
Ruby Digital’s niche market is the financial services industry. Since 2000, the firm has focused on providing innovative technology solutions—including proposal systems, content and security management systems, portfolio analytical tools, client and advisor user interfaces and other technology initiatives—for extremely complex service environments.
“We are pleased to welcome Ruby Digital as one of our value added resellers,” said Laserfiche Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Chris Wacker. “Their experience in the technology and financial services industries will help to ensure their success.”
“By combining digital pen and paper technology with the Laserfiche best-in-class product suite, Digital Paperwork bridges the gap in the document capture, workflow, integration, security and back office automation process in any service environment,” said Loren Ball, CEO of Ruby Digital.
“Intense competition in the financial services industry requires firms to cut costs yet enhance quality of service,” said Cory Martin, Director of Sales at Ruby Digital. “Any business that relies on paper-based transactions to do business will immediately see the cost effectiveness of document management technology as their operating costs decrease significantly and their business is conducted more efficiently.”
According to Stephen Cina, Director of Marketing at Ruby Digital, Ruby’s core focus has been financial services, although Digital Paperwork is also geared toward the needs of the manufacturing industry, as well as the government sector. Cina explained that any service environment relying on handwritten processes will benefit from this technology, regardless of the industry.
“Digital Paperwork is an innovative technology that takes whatever text and images a digital pen puts on paper and converts this handwritten information into digital data,” said Laserfiche Director of Product Strategy Tom Wayman. “I can see this benefiting the healthcare, pharmaceutical, banking, finance, transportation, government and education sectors.”
Digital Paperwork will be demonstrated during the Wall Street Technology Association (www.wsta.org) product showcase in New York on October 3, 2007, at 12:00 P.M. at their sponsor table location. Media who want a product demo before or after the show can contact Cory Martin at 631-670-2700, extension 117.
