Laserfiche Advocate of the Year: Lena Spencer, Laserfiche Technical Specialist at Linn-Benton Community College
Spencer is a community-minded process innovator with an eye for efficiency who has enabled cost-saving and experience-enhancing process optimization at Linn-Benton Community College. Beyond her work at the organization, Spencer also connects and inspires government agencies and educational institutions that have benefited from the sharing of Laserfiche knowledge and skills.
Nien-Ling Wacker Visionary: Patricia Clay, CIO, Hudson County Community College
A strategic information technology leader specializing in a holistic approach to higher education technology, Clay focuses on using technology for an inclusive environment that fosters student success. She has put her leadership, expertise and foresight at the service of Hudson County Community College and the wider education industry, leading digital transformation initiatives at the college and co-chairing EDUCAUSE’s HEISC Advisory Committee.
Tom Wayman Digital Transformation Leader of the Year: Katrina Bowling, Ed. D., Education Systems Administrator, Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education
As the Education Data Systems team lead, Bowling spearheaded the initiative to use Laserfiche for collecting massive amounts of data at the department and integrate it to form a cohesive data management infrastructure. This data management strategy is critical to providing accurate, accessible and consistent data for ADECE staff, evaluators and researchers whose work impact the state’s educational programming and student outcomes.
Solution Marketplace Submission of the Year: Employee Funding Action Request Form, submitted by Binu Koola, Lead Software Applications Developer at Texas A&M University
With the largest student body in the United States, Texas A&M University has constant and evolving hiring needs. The university’s shared services team created a Laserfiche powered solution — the Employee Funding Action Request Form — to automate the process for supervisors to submit new hire requests and updates to existing employees’ funding accounts. The solution eliminated repetitive manual tasks associated with the process and has created a cost savings of more than $400,000 to date since implementation.
Laserfiche Program of the Year: Innovation Team at Enterprise and Training Company
Amid worldwide uncertainty, ETC’s commitment to helping people find jobs, obtain training and gain support for their small businesses has been more important than ever before. The organization’s Innovation Team leveraged Laserfiche to automate processes across the organization, allowing ETC to take on double its normal caseload, from 7,000 to 14,000 customers, and commence new customers, on average, 50% more quickly than competitors.
Laserfiche Team of the Year: Business Process Optimization Team at the University of San Francisco
Located in a region known for technological innovation, the University of San Francisco has a student body with high expectations for digital experiences. The USF Business Process Optimization team has systematically optimized over 100 processes using Laserfiche, transforming how students interact with faculty and staff across university community functions, and resulting in an estimated time savings of 3.7 years for students, faculty and staff.
Best Program ROI: Montgomery County Hospital District
Over the past year, the Business Process Management team at Montgomery County Hospital District has used Laserfiche to transform processes used by every department within the organization, optimizing both internal and public-facing processes to save hundreds of hours of work and at least $250,000 over the course of one year.
Change-Maker of the Year: Crafton Hills College
A part of the California Community College system, Crafton Hills College serves between 5,000 and 6,500 students every semester. The college has embraced a digital-first approach to student information and services, automating complex processes such as dual enrollment applications for high school students taking college classes, as well as transcript evaluation requests, veterans’ educational benefits assistance requests, change of major and course substitution.
